| “George Carlin already wrote that joke!” Sean angrily screamed out during a local Las Vegas comedy show. The crowd bellowed as the local comic stood with limp microphone unimpressed with Sean’s desire to defend his favorite comic. Sean O’Dwyer, a man who tells you like it is, used his brutal honesty and witty personality to become one Las Vegas’ top musical engineers at Odd’s On Records & Studios. Sean O’Dwyer’s road to musical success began in California back in 1989. He was overconfident and under qualified but managed to talked his way into the graces of Kelly Musgrave, the manager of Devonshire Studios, in North Hollywood, California. It did not take much time for Kelly Musgrave to take notice of Sean’s passion and love for music. In less than one year, Sean became the first call staff engineer at Devonshire Studios. He graciously began working on Roger Waters’ “Amused to Death” as well as Ozzy Osbourne’s “No More Tears”. Sean eagerly worked for 14 months on a Roger Waters’ album and his talent did not go unnoticed by James Guthrie. Sean was asked by Guthrie to be his personal engineer. Sean’s journey did not stop here. His hard work payed off by landing him a job at the brass ring of staff engineer gigs in Hollywood.Sean jumped at the opportunity to take a position at the legendary Conway Studios. His next gig sent him outside the United States joining James Guthrie in urope to record what would become the PULSE album by Pink Floyd. Sean spent 14 months recording and mixing that album and video alongside Guthrie. For Sean, it was truly a once in a lifetime experience. After returning from the states, Sean immediately began working with Jerry Finn. This began an eight record streak on eight powerful albums. Sean and Jerry worked enthusiastically with such artists as: Blink 182, Fastball, MXPX, Sum 41, Fenix TX. Sean then went on to work with artist including; Sugartooth, Ruth Ruth, Black Crowes, Neil Diamond, Toto, Linda Ronstadt, Lisa Stanfield, Kenny Loggins, Ghoti Hook, Strife, The Dust Brothers, and Brett Gurewitz. Sean’s career kept soaring as he went on to produce several artists for Drive Thru Records, Victory Records, Epitaph and Tooth and Nail Records. Sean proved himself to be the man producing top quality music in all genres. Not to mention the current top 40 hit Air Supply’s single Dance With Me co-mixed by Matt Salveson. Sean has now accepted a job working at Odds on Records and Studios in Nevada. He has a great mixture of talent, wit, and an honest attitude that has kept him at the top of his game for many years in the music industry. Sean possesses no fear when it comes to producing new sounds that create quality albums with amazing sounds. Sean O’Dwyer, musical guru, lover of Carlin, has proven longevity in a tough industry that deserves his honest talent and honest opinions. |
